Students will explore tricks from Forward Support, Split Balances, Roll-Ups, and Spinning Skills. Other skills and progressions to safely train one-arm skills will be taught based on student skill level. At the end of the workshop, students will be left with the knowledge of how to train and condition safely through spotting technique and progressive exercises.

-Ability to invert multiple times

$60 per person - Workshop is limited to 8

Danny Eaux
Danny began the journey to become a circus artist in October 2014, on a dare to prepare and preform a routine for Miraas Circus Arts Student Showcase. The showcase was 30 days away, but no problem - challenge accepted! Danny trained every day and pulled it off! Since then, Danny's focus has shifted to become a better Straps artist, Rope artist, and is now exploring handstands and hand-balancing. Danny has had primary coaching from artist Lisa Natoli on Rope, and internationally-known acrobat and artist Carlos Franca on Straps. Danny has also had the privilege of working with: Daniel Sullivan, Jerome Schwab, Jeffrey Little, Uys Du Buisson, David Issac Grey, and the Rope Master - Emiliano Ron.

In May 2014, Jen officially took over Miraas, after it's founder, Heather, moved to Honolulu, HI. As the owner, Jen has continued to deliver and foster a superb environment to train and learn aerials in Denver by brining together incredible aerial talent from around Denver and North America to teach classes and extensive workshops. Jen has a deep sense of community and it is apparent in the way that Miraas functions and operates. Building a Solid Foundation for Straps

Building a Solid Foundation for Straps

This workshop is designed to give you training tools to build the strength and body awareness required for developing technical straps work (even if you have just a little or no experience). Basics for safe spotting (for those who want to train together) and shoulder injury prevention will also be introduced as we progress through the different drills and exercises. Come prepared to work smart, not just hard, while learning about body alignment, efficiency of movement, and skill progressions. This is a long workshop with a lot of information – a notebook, video camera, and power snacks are encouraged.

Workshop Agenda:
- Full-body warm-up with heavy focus on shoulder pre-hab/stability/mobility
- Conditioning drills for two arms, one arm, and preparation for dynamic movement
- Breakdown of a variety of rollup skills and their progressions
- Comprehensive cool-down with emphasis on maintaining open shoulder mobility.

Pre-requisites: While previous straps work is not necessary, this is not a “beginners” workshop. The following skills will be used extensively so students must feel very comfortable with each: meathook, skin-the-cat, inverted pike, inverted pull-up, straddle ups with straight arms/legs

Limit: 5
Length: 3hrs
Cost: $60

Aerial Conditioning: Straps Edition

Aerial Conditioning: Straps Edition

This hour has been curated to provide a full body workout using a mix of floor exercises and conditioning exercises on straps. Formatted similarly to a Tabatta style circuit training, you will work through three rounds of 8 exercises all targeted at making movement in the air easier and more efficient. While the class uses straps as the primary apparatus for the workout, the exercises used here will translate to all other aerial work. Come prepared to sweat!

Pre-requisites: Previous straps work is not necessary and most of the exercises are scalable, but having a solid meathook and the ability to hold a hollow body position for at least 30 seconds will be very helpful. If you have not done straps before, please come a few minutes early so wrapping and body position on the straps can be explained.

Limit: 8
Length: 1.25hr
Cost: $20
