Fitness Classes for Aerial

Our fitness classes include Aerial Conditioning and Deep Stretch & Flexibility.

AERIAL CONDITIONING

Run similarly to a circuit training class, aerial conditioning will push your cardio and strength to their fullest capacity. Students will alternate between each aerial apparatus and floor work doing exercises targeted at the specific muscle groups that will help you move in the air with ease. From beginners to advanced aerialists, this class is open to anyone looking to build muscle, endurance, and even flexibility.

Prerequisite: At least one aerial class or have instructor approval.

DEEP STRETCH & FLEXIBILITY

Want to learn effective ways of stretching your hamstrings, hips, shoulders, and back? This hour-long class will give you the tools you need to achieve maximum flexibility & gorgeous lines, and teach how to stretch from head-to-toe! The curriculum is based on the teachings of Mongolian contortion, with the focus on the stretch rather than the trick. These techniques are accessible and challenging to all levels.

Please bring a clean pair of socks with you to class!

Prerequisite: None.

Open Training

Our open training classes are for students who wish to work on developing/practicing their skills learned in their group classes or private lessons. These sections have coaches on-site, but no new skills will be taught during this time. Instructor approval is required to attend these classes.

OPEN GYM

All apparatuses will be available during this is time for current students to work on perfecting moves, techniques, and poses learned during classes. This time can also be used to work on conditioning, endurance, flexibility or developing acts. While instructors will be available to spot students while working, no new material will be taught during Open Gym. We also ask that students DO NOT use Open Gym to teach others or work on skills that have not been directly taught to them in the their regular classes. If you are at an Open Gym session that overlaps with a regular class or private lesson, you may be asked to move to a different point to allow the class to run - regular studio classes will take precedent over all Open Gym sessions so there might be limited access to equipment and space during high volume class times.

Please read our Studio Policies page for specific Open Gym rules.

Prerequisite: Minimum TWO aerial classes (lyra, silks, trapeze, etc.). If you are not a regular Lucia Aerial student, we ask that you meet with an instructor prior to Open Gym for a skill check and approval.

ACT DEVELOPMENT

Focused time and space for students to work on choreography and developing personal acts outside of class time. Similar to Open Gym, no new skills are taught during this time, but an instructor will be available for feedback and to ask questions and provide guidance. Students should feel comfortable providing/receiving feedback and critiquing each other's work when asked.

Prerequisite: Instructor approval required, not for beginners. If you are not a regular Lucia Aerial student, you must meet with an instructor prior to class for a skill check and approval.
